This story wraps you in intrigued from the first page to the last. When we first meet Neil he working security at a political event and foils a would be grifter who just so happens to be a woman that he knows from his past as a cop. Neil left his life as a cop because of unanswered questions surrounding his mom's death and the captain in charge of the case. Alex grifter extraordinaire, has never been caught until Neil and once in custody strikes a deal with him to help retrieve an item that's being sold at a auction which is invite only if he lets her go and help her with her problems which is of the stalker variety. Intensely protective, possessive and dominant, Neil is a force to be reckoned with. The great thing about this story was the underlining chemistry between the two main characters. Alex is a strong-willed woman who stands up to Neil, and that just intensifies the connection these two have. There was such wonderful suspense involved, that the plot continued to draw me in bit by bit with every word written, while luring me with the temptation of more. This book will keep you on your toes and just when you think you have it figured out, it will actually be just beginning.
